WHY DO MEN LIKE TOYS??
H said:Cocoy
did that too, he was 7 yrs old now and sometimes when he wake up early , he
grabs his toys (sticker cards, car toys, or even draws something cartoon
characters, etc) and play with it and learn . Sometimes I told myself , is Cocoy
going crazy with his toys? But now, I realize that’s their exercise ,a part of learning and discovering and just
have fun.

So hindi na ako magugulat if Cocoy and
also MaIcko when they getting older they also like toys as part of growing up.
I had also a special one that he discover somehting new toy- an airplane. Yes,
it’s a little bit expensive but according to him , the kinds of materials they
used or how big or small that depends on how expensive it is.But his airplane
was just some kinda of “hand me down “
airplane from a big time persons in that place.
So now, I just enjoy talking and listening to him about that stuff, I
enjoyed it , I hope I can see that airplane flying.

To understand the male mind a little better, here are few things about
our love for toys.
When I was 10 or 11 yrs old, I’d wake up at 5:30 in the
morning so that I could play with my Spiderman doll ..err I mean , macho action
figure! Spidey was 6 inches tall, had
articulated joints and a costume made of stretchy polyester. tHat means you
could make him pose like Spiderman does in the comic books, TV shows,
orjhowever your 10 yr old imagination wanted.
Thirty years later, I’m still fascinated with toys. Sometimes
that fascination carries over t o cars, bikes, and home theater systems, tools,
phones , computers and even household appliances. However you look at it, there
is still something about them being toys.
I don’t think I’m alone . Men like toys. Tha’s not a judgment or a
creative way of saying men need to grow up. That’s just statement of fact.
So to understand that male mind a little better, here are few things
about our love for toys.
1.
Toys are about play.
And play is about decompressing.
Sometimes the world gets s little too intense and after a long day of work, men
just want to come home to decompress—it’s not just about relaxing, it’s about
releasing tension and stress. Sometimes watching the news, an action movie, or
a slow documentary does it. And sometimes decapitating monsters, delivering
accurately timed head shots, and racing
down city streets helps ease the day’s stress away. AT a certain point there’s some teeth grinding,
shoulder tensing and leg stomping but it gets us relaxed.
2.
Toys are our version of shoes or
bags.
Clear enough? There’s something about them
that just grabs our attention and captures our imagination. OF course ther’s
nothing useful about them-much like eight inch heels and an oversized,
monogrammed, French, branded carryall that you don’t fill up anyway. But
there’s really something satisfying about looking at them, touching them, and
playing with them.
3.
Toys engage another part of brains .
Iguess this is part of the decompressing process. When our brains are engaged
in playing video game, connecting some wires or tuning up a car, we don’t have
time to worry if the future will be ok or if we can protect our loved ones from
it. That’s one reason why men are always
tinkiering and upgrading and why the makers of Angry Birds are now
gabazillionaires.
4.
Playtime is alone time. This was
something a friend once told me or something I read somewhere and I thought it
was so simple yet so insightful. Men need alone time. They just need to be by
themselves at times. It keeps us sane.
And it somehow recharges us.
5.
Buying a toy engages an internal time
machine. An older and wiser techy friend of mine was asked, “ Why do you always
upgrade to the latest Macs?” HE answered , “I’m not gettingany younger. IN
fact, toys brings us back to a simpler time in a simpler age when we didn’t
have to worry about job security or the quality of our family’s future. There’s
something good about that. There’s something in there too about the seeds of
sharing to your kids what your parents gave you.
Men like toys. Something about playing with them helps the male mind. So
If you see your man act like a 10-yr old again, give him a small nod that says
you get it. And next time you worry about what to give him on a special day,
get him something he can play with. For as a game console ad once said,” to him
it’s like a dozen ong-stemmed roses.”
